One option is the Person-to-Person transfer if you are transferring funds to an account that is not your own. To use this transfer feature, you must first be enrolled in Online Banking. If you are not enrolled, you can do so here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your Social Security number, your TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, your account number, and your e-mail address. If you do not have a debit or ATM card, please call one of our 24/7 Online Specialists at 1-800-493-7562. After account verification, our dedicated Specialists would be happy to help. Once you’ve successfully enrolled for Online Banking, you will then select the “Person-to-Person” Tab to enroll in this feature. For the Terms and Conditions in addition to information on the payment methods and amounts, please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD. This type of transfer can be made recurring and for a set amount. After creating the transfer, you would select "Make this a Recurring Payment" beneath the amount and date fields.
If you are transferring funds to yourself at another financial institution you can use our external transfer feature. You have the option to set-up instant, recurring, and/or future-dated transfers between your TD Bank accounts through your Personal Online Banking and accounts you have at other financial institutions, including Credit Unions and Brokerage accounts. Please understand, it is necessary for you to have a U.S. address, a unique U.S. phone number, a Social Security Number, and a valid unique email address. External transfers can only be conducted to or from a U.S. account in U.S. currency only. External Transfers can only be made from an "Eligible Transaction Account": for example, Personal checking, money market or savings accounts are usually allowed, with you as a signer on the account. Please note, accounts excluded from using this service due to ACH restrictions include, but are not limited to: Passbook, IRA, Holiday Club, Club Saver, and CDs. You have two delivery options when sending an external transfer. There is the three business day option which has a cut-off time of 1:00am and a fee of $3.00. You also have the option to send the external transfer with next business day delivery, which has a cut-off time of 5:00pm. Please note, the next day delivery option is not available for savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions which overdrew your account in the past 90 days. Another option you have is to send a Wire Transfer, which can be done at any local TD Bank Store. Please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores for hours and locations near you. Also keep in mind that depending on the currency you are sending, some transactions may take longer than others.
To initiate a wire to another domestic financial institution, you will need:
- Name, address and ABA routing number of the receiving bank
- Name of the account to be credited
- Beneficiary address
- Account number
Additionally with wire transfers, you can even send money to someone outside the U.S. All you need to send an international wire is to provide the following information:
- The full name, address, including city, state/province, and country and account number of the person/business (for Euro Zone countries – IBAN – International Banking Account Number you are sending money to. - The full name and address, including city, state/province and country of the financial institution receiving the funds. - The amount and currency of the transfer.
We recommend checking with the other financial institution to ensure no other additional information is required. If you are considering making this type of transfer, please note that wires are considered a one-time transfer and would have to be scheduled at your TD Store every time.
