Thanks for connecting with us on TD Helps today, David. We are sorry to hear that you're interested in leaving the bank, but understand if you need to close your account and can provide you with some options to do so from your current location.
First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have moved to Las Vegas, we do have some options for you to complete your banking without the need to visit a TD Bank Store. Please note that we offer fully featured online and mobile banking services and live telephone support available 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
If you're enrolled for online banking with us, please remember that you can access your account at any time to get up-to-date account information, and you can even communicate with us whenever you'd like using our Secure Messaging service available once you've log in. If you are not enrolled, signing up for Online Banking is quick and easy! First, make sure you have your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, Social Security number and, email address handy. Once you do, please visit here http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. After selecting the link, you will be asked to choose "Personal." When you select continue, you will have to read and accept the Online Banking Service Agreement. Then you will be asked to enter your personal information including the items mentioned earlier. Finally you will be asked to create three security questions. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
Once you're enrolled, click on the ''Customer Service'' tab, and then use the ''Send a Message'' link to talk with us about any account concerns that you have.
If you're still interested in closing your account, we understand and can share some instructions with you to do so.
If you'd like to make an External transfer to close your account, please be aware TD Bank does have limits on the amount available for your account security. For some general information on limits regarding this service, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD (Pg 3. section 1.16). Generally, all customers are supplied with standard initial limits for this service. Your limits are available to view once you log in to your TD Bank account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. When you navigate to the transfer tab and select the option to send a transfer outside of TD Bank, you can setup your transfer and then click on the 'information' icon to the right of the amount box. This will show you the information for your current monthly, daily, and per transaction limits. Generally, if your account remains with no insufficient funds occurrences for 90 Days after making your very first external transfer, then your transfer limit will be increased automatically to our Standard Limits (at our discretion).
If you find you have any questions about our Online Banking, you're more than welcome to contact a Tech Support Specialist 24/7 at 800-493-7562.
Once you have a balance of zero, you may also call Customer Service. Or, you're welcome to send a Secure Message via your Online Banking account by following the instructions above. There, you can enter your request and a Banking Specialist will close your account within 24-48 hours. Please be sure to specify the account number you wish to close if you choose this method.
If your account has remaining funds, another way to close the account from Las Vegas is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and any available money will be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your name ▪Your account number(s) ▪Your request to close the account(s) ▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
