Thanks for joining us here at TD Helps, Nicole. We appreciate your inquiry and we understand your concerns.
If you have a TD Simple Savings account linked to your TD Student Checking account, we'd like to let you know that student benefits expire after 5 years or on a student’s 24th birthday, whichever comes first.
At that point, you may withdrawal the funds from your TD Simple Savings account and close the account if you wish.
Once the account reflects a zero balance, you may request to close your account by calling us at 888-751-9000. We are available 24/7 and after account verification, we'd be happy to help. You may also send your request via secure messaging by logging onto your TD Online Banking from here: http://bit.ly/SMUhhl. If you have not enrolled and wish to, please visit: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Keep in mind that you will need your account number, ATM/Visa Debit Card number and email address. Once enrolled, you may send a secure message by selecting "Send a secure message" located on the left hand side of the page, beneath "Message Center." If you need assistance, please call us at the number above.
Lastly, you may also visit us during lobby hours with your request. To locate the nearest TD Store, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps, Nicole. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a good day!
