Hello, Scott, thanks for joining us here at TD Helps.
At TD Bank, we offer a wide array of accounts and we invite you both to visit the below links for more information. For checking account information please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1dbAcWh. For more information on savings account you may click: http://bit.ly/1o4wfc4.
If your child is a teen and a full-time student, a Student Checking account may be best for him. To learn more about our Student Checking account, which includes no monthly maintenance fee or minimum daily balance for students under the age of 24, please visit http://bit.ly/S8Vejp.
For a personalized recommendation, you may check here for our Checking Account Selector: http://bit.ly/1hQscMj and here for our Savings Account Selector: http://bit.ly/1hQscMj.
Individuals under the age of 18 may open a joint checking or savings account with an adult by visiting any TD Bank Store. To find a nearby TD Bank location, please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We can instantly issue Visa debit cards in our stores from Maine to Florida, which will immediately be active for purchases. Being that he is a minor (under the age of 18), if a joint account was opened, a Visa debit card can be issued as long as a verbal consent of an adult was given.
Alternatively, if your child is 13 years of age or older, they qualify for TD Bank Go Card. The TD Bank Go Card is a great way to help teens manage their funds and also for you to keep track of their spending. The TD Go Card is easy to fund. Money may be loaded onto the card by the Account Owner using any Visa or MasterCard, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go Card website: http://bit.ly/1wibSus. Please understand, as Savings accounts have ATM Only cards (no Visa logo) as you are unable to use this card to transfer funds into the account.
A $1 load fee applies; for a full list of fees, please see the Terms & Conditions http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du or Account Guide http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w. Account Owners and Cardholders may also set up a free direct deposit from your employer(s). The Account Owner may also invite family and friends to load funds to the card. For detailed instructions, visit us online or call 855-219-8050.
If you are interested in getting a card for your teen, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt to take you to the "Enrollment" page. Please select the "Enrollment Type" and select "Continue." You will then be asked to create your profile and a series of questions will be asked. Once you've created a profile, you will then be able to add your teen by selecting the "Adding a Teen" button. You will need to provide the teen's information and fund the card.
We hope this helps. Have a great one and let us know if you have any other banking questions.
