we would like to help our son learn to save and also enable him to do his own spending under our supervision. He's 13. Thought perhaps he could have a savings account with a debit card in his name. It looks like the go card program is close to this.

Hi Jerry, thanks for choosing to come to TD Helps with your question.
We think teaching children the importance of managing money is a great way to introduce your child to the world of financial responsibility. Feel free to look here: http://bit.ly/1qFVrYP for some helpful tips!
For details on the Savings accounts that we offer, take a look here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT. We also have a tool called the Savings Selector that you will help you figure out which account is best for you by simply answering a few questions. Check it out: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM. Once you find an account that works for you and your son, you may open the account by visiting any TD Bank Store. For a listing of locations and hours, please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Since your child is 13 years of age, he does qualify for TD Bank Go Card. The TD Bank Go Card is a great way to help your teen manage their funds and also for you to keep track of their spending. The TD Go Card is easy to fund. Money may be loaded onto the card by the Account Owner using any Visa or MasterCard, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go Card website: http://bit.ly/1wibSus. Please understand, as Savings accounts have ATM Only cards (no Visa logo) as you are unable to use this card to transfer funds into the account.
A $1 load fee applies; for a full list of fees, please see the Terms & Conditions http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du or Account Guide http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w. Account Owners and Cardholders may also set up a free direct deposit from your employer(s). The Account Owner may also invite family and friends to load funds to the card. For detailed instructions, visit us online or call 855-219-8050.
If you are interested in getting a card for your teen, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt to take you to the "Enrollment" page. Please select the "Enrollment Type" and select "Continue." You will then be asked to create your profile and a series of questions will be asked. Once you've created a profile, you will then be able to add your teen by selecting the "Adding a Teen" button. You will need to provide the teen's information and fund the card.
Hope this helps and have a great start to you week, Jerry!
