Hey there Agnes!
Great to see you and thank you for your question today.
Typically, students under the age of 18 can open a joint checking or savings account with a parent or guardian by visiting us at one of our Stores.
If you decide to open the account with your son or daughter, as the parent or guardian you will want to bring a valid form of identification such as a State License, State ID or Passport and your Social Security number, and acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card. Joint accounts can only be opened at a TD Bank location. Please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores for a TD Store near you.
We'd like to let you know that we also offer the TD Go card, which is another great option for teens. This card is a great way to help our teen Customers manage funds and for parents and guardians to keep track of their spending, and is easy to fund. Money can be loaded onto the card by the account owner using a TD Bank Visa Debit or Credit card, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go card website: http://bit.ly/1wibSus. We invite you to check out the TD Go Card Terms & Conditions here: http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du and also here: http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w for more details on our TD Go Card Guide which includes any fees applicable. The Go card can be used by teens age 13 and up.
If you'd like to get a Go card for your son or daughter, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt, which takes you to the "Enrollment" page. You can enroll your teen in the card here by following the prompts.
If you have any additional questions regarding our TD Go card, please do not hesitate to connect with us at 855-219-8050. You could also take a look here: http://bit.ly/1gRpCay for some FAQs.
Any questions at all, we're here to help! Just give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and we'll be happy to assist.
We hope one of these options will work for you and your family, Agnes.
Thanks for considering us for your family's accounts and we hope to chat again soon!
