Thanks for coming by TD Helps today, Tara! We'll be sure to provide the information that you need.
In order for an account to be closed, it must be at a zero balance. There are a couple of ways that you can close your account. Feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit us at any TD Bank during lobby hours to have one of our Banking Specialists to close your account. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
Or, if you're enrolled in online banking, you can send a secure message requesting the closure of your account. To send a secure message, please sign into your account and select "Send a message"; which is located underneath the Message Center on the left hand side of the page. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for an account to be closed.
We hope this answers your question, Tara and enjoy the rest of your day!
