Thanks for visiting us, Carolyn. We appreciate you wanting to open an account with us and would be glad to help!
As you've mentioned that you're interested in an account with us and are concerned about ChexSystems, please note that TD Bank does use multi-factor verification during the account opening process.
If you'd like to open an account with us and have had a previous account reported to ChexSystems, we would recommend visiting a TD Bank Store during lobby hours to speak with a Store Representative to determine if you may be able to do so. Please see http://bit.ly/TDStores to search for a TD Store near you.
If you prefer, you're also welcome to make use of our telephone and online options for opening an account. Please keep in mind that standard verification will be included in the new account opening process to determine if you qualify. If you'd prefer to open your account by phone, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with one of our dedicated Customer Service Representatives. Or, if you choose to open the account online, you may use the Open Account button at these links below to begin your application.
Additionally, there is no minimum amount required to open an account with us. However, depending on the type of account you choose to open, you may be required to maintain a minimum daily balance to avoid a maintenance fee. If you choose an account with a minimum daily balance, we recommend opening the account with that amount as an initial deposit.
To take a look at our current accounts and see what may suit you, we encourage you to take a look at our Checking accounts here: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd, or use our Checking account Selector at http://bit.ly/KmmHe7. Our Savings products are listed here: http://bit.ly/1l6nLQ7, or use our Savings Selector Tool at http://bit.ly/1hXi2wF. When opening the account, using any method you'll just need your Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport.
You were also inquiring about having funds transferred to your TD account. Once your new account has been established, you may request to have funds transferred into your account via your TD Online Banking by using our Person-to-Person payment feature. To use this feature, you must first be enrolled for Online Banking. If you are already enrolled, please click here to sign in: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. If you have not enrolled and have a TD Debit card handy, please click here http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to start. Again, you will need your TD ATM/Visa Debit card, your account number, social security number and your email address. If you need assistance, feel free to call us at 888-751-9000, available 24/7. After account verification, our Specialists would be happy to help!
Once you've enrolled and are logged in, under the Person-to-Peron tab please select the "Request Money." To add the person you are looking to receive funds from, please select the "Add a Contact" link located beside the "Request From" field. Please fill in the necessary fields including their email address or mobile phone number (this is how they will receive your notification of funds request); please remember to "save" the information. You can then select an amount then select the account you want the funds to be credited into. You also have the option of setting a due date! Once the fields have been inputted, please select "Next." You will then be asked to review your request on the next page, and then select "Send Request."
For the Terms and Conditions in addition to information on the payment methods and amounts, please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD.
Another option is for your fiancé to send you a domestic wire transfer. Please provide him with the following information:
Wire to: TD Bank, N.A. Wilmington, Delaware
Your full name as it appears on your account statement
Your account number
Please note, we do not process incoming Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) wires and we return them to the sender. Please keep in mind that fees may apply, for more information on the fees please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Lastly, your fiancé also has the option of visiting a TD Bank store and request to make a cash deposit into your account. All they will need to provide is your full name and account number, the funds will then be available immediately. Check out http://bit.ly/TDStores to find Store hours and locations. Finally, the person making the transfer may also contact their financial institution since they may offer other options to make transfers.
Your fiancé may also connect with his Financial Institution for additional options on how to transfer funds to your TD account.
We hope the information provided was helpful, Carolyn. Should you need anything else, please do not hesitate to let us know.
