Welcome to TD Helps, Alyssa and thank you for considering TD Bank for your banking needs! It'll be our pleasure to provide you with more information.
When opening a new account, your initial deposit may be in the form of a cashier's check. Please keep in mind since you'll be a new account holder, the cashier's check may take up to 7 business days to become available in your account. Once your account has been established for 30 consecutive days, most deposits will become available on the next business day following the deposit. We invite you to review our full Funds Availability Policy starting on page 38 http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ.
Additionally, we encourage you to view the different types of Savings accounts that we offer found here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM; which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
You may open your account at any TD Bank Store so that you may also make your deposit at that time. For a listing of TD Bank Stores, please look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. You also have the option of clicking onto the orange "Open Account" button on our website or by calling 888-751-9000 24/7 to open an account over the phone with a Banking Specialist. If you decide to open the account online or over the phone, you will have thirty days to make your initial deposit.
We hope this is helpful for you, Alyssa and please let us know if we can assist again.

If I want to deposit more than 10k with a Cashier Check from my current Bank is that an issue? I have heard that it could be with the IRS or someone? It would come from my current back as I wish to switch my business.
