Good morning, Nancy. That's a really important question.
If your sister should have received your check by now and has not, we recommend placing a stop payment on it. Anytime a check is lost, there is the possibility of it ending up in the wrong hands and the check being cashed or deposited. A stop payment will help prevent this.
To have a stop payment placed on your account, please give us a call at 888-751-9000 or you may visit a local TD Bank Store. You can find a location near you here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc. You can also place the stop payment yourself through your online banking by logging in here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, click on the 'Customer Service' tab. Then select 'Stop Payment'. Please note that a fee may apply for this service. You can review our Personal Fee Schedule at https://go.td.com/2kFZ5mK.
We see that you're writing to us from Toronto, so if the check was written from a TD Canada Trust account, please visit them at https://go.td.com/1vT0aGD. Once there, click the 'Contact Us' link at the top of the page. From there you'll find several methods of contact.
We hope that you get this resolved quickly. Have a great weekend!
