A friend of mine is trying to send me a wire, I gave her my account number and routing number but she says she needs more information than that. What other information would I need to send her? Is there any cost if she sends me a wire?

We appreciate your reaching out to us on TD Helps with your question, Lillie.
We would be more than happy to assist you with your wire questions. Please keep in mind that there are different instructions if the wire being received is domestic or international.
If you are expecting a domestic wire, you may have funds wire transferred into any transaction account (e.g. Checking, Money Market or Statement Savings); we post all incoming wires from the Federal Reserve until 6:30pm on the current banking day. A confirmation will be sent to you the day the wire transfer is credited to your account. At this time, we may not process incoming Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) wires and will return them to the sender.
For an Incoming Domestic Wire Transfer, it is necessary to provide the following information to any individual or financial institution wiring funds into your TD account:
- Your account number
- Your routing number (first 9 digits on the bottom of your checks)
- Your account title, exactly as it appears on your account
If you’re expecting an international wire the information needed will depend on whether your friend will be sending US or foreign currency. The wire instructions are included in this link http://bit.ly/1d6xZtF. For incoming international foreign currency wires you will need to provide the foreign bank the following wire instructions http://bit.ly/OL3R2y. The fees for both domestic and international Incoming Wires are only $15.00 each. Any fees to your friend would depend on the other financial institution.
Let us know if you have any other questions. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
