In reply to E, Mount Laurel,
Great question, E. We'd be glad to discuss.
Great news, neither TD Bank nor Visa charges any foreign transaction fees when you use your TD Bank debit card! You'll also be able to use your debit card to make cash withdrawals internationally at any ATM Machine that displays either the VISA or PLUS logo. If you are unable to find a compatible machine, you will also be able to use your Debit Card to obtain a VISA Cash Advance.
Please note that non-TD ATM fees still may apply. For more information on the Fee Schedule, please take a look here: http://go.td.com/1cTejgt. We also invite you to review our Deposit Account Agreement at http://go.td.com/1kb17UQ for more information about exchange rates for purchases.
Please note, for your protection, TD Bank continually monitors your debit card activity, and we may decline any irregular TD debit card or ATM transaction that is attempted. If you intend to travel, we encourage you to give a Representative a call at 888-751-9000 24/7 so that we may note this on your account for you. You'll want to provide us with the dates and any other locations you'll be visiting when you call, so that your card will continue working as expected.
You are also able to visit a TD Store or send a secure message to place a travel notification. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
To send a secure message you must first logon to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center."
If you need to contact us while on your travels, you may contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. For your convenience, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The US country code is 1-011.
We hope this helps, E. Have a good day.
