I want to build credit in the US as I am working here under a TN Visa. I am a Canadian citizen and I have a US address.
I want the credit card to use my Canadian credit history for approval but once approved, I want it to help me build US Credit (using my US SSN).
Is this possible? What credit card options do I have? How can I complete this request?
Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the response. Let's say I am approved for the credit card using my Canadian SIN, could I add my US SSN afterwards so that it will report to American credit agencies?
Also, do you have a link to the network footprint you referred to?

Thank you for getting back to us with your additional questions, Antonios.
After you have been approved for a TD VISA credit card with your Canadian SIN, you may contact TD Card Services at 1-888-561-8861 to add your newly obtained U.S. Social Security Number to your existing TD Visa credit card. Although some necessary paperwork at a TD U.S. Store location may be needed to make this change, your U.S. SSN may be added onto your existing credit card account with us.
In regards to your concerns about credit reporting, please know that we report to all U.S. Credit Bureaus – Transunion, Equifax, and Experian. In regards to starting a credit report and building your credit score down here in the U.S., we recommend reaching out to those respective agencies to determine how/if they may report for you prior to you having a U.S. SSN. Likewise, once we have your U.S. SSN on file, we would also recommend reaching out to them with any questions or concerns about how they may report your payment history at that time.
Additionally, we're currently located on the East Coast of the U.S., and when we refer to 'our footprint', we're referring to one of our Store locations between Maine & Florida. Please click here to locate a location in our footprint: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Please feel free to write back to us if we can assist you again, Antonios. Have a great weekend!
