I had a cashiers check made out to a realtor but I ended up not taking the apartment and the realtor ripped up the check thinking it was just a check. However, I need to get the money put back into my account. How do I do this and how long does it take?

Thank you for stopping by TD Helps today, Carly. We're sorry for your misfortune and we'll be able to provide some guidance.
In order to process a refund for the Official Check you ordered, you would need to bring in the receipt given the day of your transaction. After additional verification, such as I.D. (Driver's License, passport, etc), we will gladly assist with your concerns.
Please know that if you do not have the receipt, we ask that you visit the TD Store in which you purchased the Official Check.
If you do not recall the exact location you visited, you can use this Store Locator to find the address: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this points you in the right direction, Carly. Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
