Thanks for stopping by TD Helps, Amanda! We'd be happy to help answer your question!
If the check is made out to someone you know, you can deposit the check into your account. To deposit a check written for someone, they must sign the back of the check and both parties must be present at the time of deposit if they are not a signer on your account. An Endorsement Authorization & Release from must also be signed and can be done at any TD Bank during lobby hours. Click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc to find a Store near you.
Please note; government or insurance checks can only be presented for payment from the person listed on the "Payable to" line of the check.
We also invite you to take a look here: https://go.td.com/1kb17UQ for more information on our Funds Availability (pages 41-44).
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us 24/7, at 888-751-9000.
We hope this helps and enjoy the rest of your day, Amanda.
