My disabled brother shares a joint non-TD checking account with me. The nearest bank to him is a TD branch. Can he write a check to himself on the non-TD account , and get it cashed at his local TD branch? (An ATM card isn't a practical solution for him).

Good Morning, Julie. Thanks for joining us on TD Helps!
We'd first like to inform you that we are unable to cash checks that are not drawn on a TD Bank account if you are not an existing TD Bank Customer.
Non TD Bank Customers are welcome to cash a check drawn off of a TD Bank account. Simply stop into your local TD Store during lobby hours. We invite you to click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to view our Store locations and hours. Please be sure to have valid photo identification (Driver's License, passport, State issued photo I.D. etc.) ready when you complete this transaction. There is a fee of $7.00 for this service.
Check cashing fees are waived for TD Bank Customers. If you decide to open an account, you may continue to cash checks as long as you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the amount of the check.
We currently offer many different types of checking and savings accounts. To view and compare our checking accounts, please click here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF. To view and compare savings account products, click here: http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ. We also have a product selector tool: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E which may help you decide which account best fits your banking needs!
Accounts may be opened over the phone by calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000, online or at a TD Bank Store.
Please feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions, Julie. If not, we hope you have a great day!
