I'm starting with the process to change my business name within the state (the tax ID will remain the same). How much time do I have to change the name with the bank? Or what would happen if I don't?

Hi Alex! Thanks for visiting us at TD Help with your question.
Once you've completed your business' name change, you'll want to update us as soon as possible. Just stop in to see us with any state paperwork you have from the name change and we should be able to update your account. To find a TD Bank Store near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
If we're not notified within 90 days of the name change, you will receive a letter requesting a W9 because our information doesn't match what the IRS has on file for your business.

Do I need to go personally to one of your Stores to make this change of info or can I send the state paperwork (or someone who is not account signer) to do this change?

Hi Alex! Thanks for responding.
Any kind of change to a business account would require a visit in person at a TD Bank Store. If you're unable to come in yourself, another signer may be able to make this change. But someone who is not a signer on the account would not be permitted any access to the account, including updating the business name.
