I was given a personal check by a TD customer and I need to cash it but I do not have any accounts with TD Bank. Can I go into a TD store and get the check cashed?

Good morning, Shannon!
This is a great question, and we appreciate you coming to TD Helps for assistance!
Currently, if you are not a TD Bank Customer, and would like to cash a check drawn off a TD Bank account, you are welcome to do so. Checks can be cashed provided there is no stop payment on the check, and it is payable to an individual. We ask that you please provide valid photo identification at the time of your visit, and please note that a fee may apply for this service.
Just in case the check you wish to cash is not drawn on TD Bank, and you are not an existing TD Customer, we apologize as we will not be able to cash non-TD Bank checks for non-Customers at this time.
However, if you wish to open an account with us, any check-cashing fee will be waived, and if the check is not drawn on TD Bank, you'll then be able to negotiate it with us using your account!
We offer many different types of Checking and Savings accounts. You're welcome to review our Checking Accounts here: https://go.td.com/2tX7kAh, and our Savings accounts are listed here: https://go.td.com/1hzzhPT. If you'd like, you're also welcome to use our Selector Tool, which can be found here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E. This will help you by making a personalized recommendation, based on your needs.
If you wish to open a new account, you may to click on the orange button, below the account of your choosing, that reads 'Open Account'. You're also welcome to call us directly, 24/7, at 888-751-9000 with any questions you may have, and to set up your new account with a Banking Specialist.
Additionally, as always, you may also visit your nearest TD Store location. Not only will they be able to answer any questions you may have, but they'll also be able to open a new account for you during your visit. Feel free to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to locate your nearest TD Store location.
Once you have a TD Bank deposit account, such as a Checking, a Savings, or a Money Market account, checks not drawn on TD Bank can still be cashed at any TD Bank location, with your valid photo ID, as long as you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the amount of the check.
We hope this helped, Shannon, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
Take care, and have an amazing start to your Thursday!
