Do Td bank use ChexSystem ? Will they deny me from opening an account with them ???!

As you've mentioned that you're interested in an account with us and are concerned about ChexSystems, please note that TD Bank does use multi-factor verification during the account opening process.
If you'd like to open an account with us and have had a previous account reported to ChexSystems, we would recommend visiting a TD Bank Store during lobby hours to speak with a Store Representative to determine if you may be able to do so. If you prefer, you're also welcome to make use of our telephone and online options for opening an account. Please keep in mind that standard verification will be included in the new account opening process to determine if you qualify. I just tried to open in IRA at another bank....they told me I have a outstanding balance with TD......which I know I took care of last year....how do I take care of this...I paid in person at the TD Bank in Port Jefferson Station, NY

Most financial institutions, including TD Bank, use the ChexSystem to monitor when accounts are overdrawn and sent to that institutions collections department. If an account you have has been sent to collections, you may be unable to open an account with another institution until that balance has been paid in full.
In the event that you were unable to open an account with another financial institution because of an account you may have with TD Bank, we'd like recommend that you call and speak with a Specialist from our Collections and Recovery Department. To reach a Specialist, you may simply dial 800-354-9769. For your convenience, our Specialists are here to help Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-7:00pm, as well as Friday 8:00am-6:00pm.
