My children both have student accounts tied to my account. Both of them are now over 18 and have opened other checking and savings accounts elsewhere. What needs to be done to close their student accounts? Thank you.

Good morning, Amy.
It's great to hear from you today, and we appreciate you bringing your concerns to TD Helps. We'll be more than happy to assist you and your children with closing their accounts.
Here at TD Bank, when looking to close an account, you have a couple different options available to you, and the options you'll have the ability to take advantage of can vary depending on the balance of the account. We'd also like to mention that if you are not a signer on your children's accounts, they will need to speak with us directly to have the accounts closed.
If your children's accounts currently have a zero dollar balance, they may first connect with us over the phone, or if they have access to their online banking, they may also send us a secure message. To connect over the phone, they may simply dial 1-888-751-9000. Banking Specialist can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, towards the right hand side of your screen, you should see a 'Your Secure Messages' section. To send a message, simply click 'Send us a secure message.'
If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
If your children currently have a balance remaining in their account, we ask that they visit their nearest TD Store location to request to have the accounts closed by speaking with a Customer Service Representative, during lobby hours. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
In the event that your children's accounts have balances, and they're unable to visit a TD Store location, they may mail a written, signed, and notarized request to the following address:
TD Bank, N.A.
Their home Store address
Their home Store telephone number
If your children are unaware of their home Store information, that's okay, as they're welcome to connect with us at the number above, and we'll be happy to confirm this information! Additionally, if your children's accounts currently hold a negative balance, unfortunately, we'll have to ask that they step into a TD Store location to bring the balance back to zero so that the account may be closed.
We hope you found this information helpful, Amy, and thanks again for stopping by!
Enjoy your day, and have a great weekend!
Brittany M, Mount Laurel
