Thanks for joining us on TD Helps, Peter.
We're sorry to hear that you're looking to close your accounts with TD Bank, but we understand, and will be happy to provide you with all the options you have to do so.
We'd first like to mention that when looking to close your account(s), your options may be limited depending on the balance in your account(s). If your account currently has a zero dollar balance, you're welcome to connect with us, and we'll gladly process your request for you. You're first welcome to call 1-888-751-9000 to speak with one of our Banking Specialist, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you'd prefer, you would also have the option of sending us a secure message with your request. To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, towards the right hand side of your screen, you should see a 'Your Secure Messages' section. To send a message, simply click 'Send us a secure message.'
If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
While your account will need to reflect a zero dollar balance to be successfully closed through secure message or over the phone, by visiting a TD Store location during lobby hours, a Customer Service Representative should be able to assist you with your account closure regardless of the balance. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If your account currently has a positive balance, and you're unable to visit a TD Store location to retrieve the funds and request for the account to be closed, you may also mail a signed, written, and notarized request to the following address:
TD Bank, N.A.
Your home Store address
Your home Store telephone number
If you're unsure of this information, we invite you to connect with us at any of the methods above.
We're sorry to see you go, Peter, but we hope you find this information helpful.
