Thanks for contacting TD Helps today, Gabrielle. We're sad to see that you want to close your account; however, we would be happy to help.
The quickest and most convenient way to go about your request would be for you to visit us at any TD Store. When you visit a TD Store to request to close your account, all you need to bring with you is a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.). Please note, if your account currently has an available balance, please let the Specialists know, and they will assist you with withdrawing any funds before assisting you with your initial request. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
You also have the option of requesting to have your account closed via a mailed, written request. You may request to close your account, and any funds that are currently available will be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
If your account currently has a zero balance, and you do not live close to a TD Store, there are several options you may choose from to go about closing your account. Your first option is to contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-888-751-9000, available 24/7. You may also send us a secure message via your Online Banking. If you have not enrolled, you may do so by following the link provided here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security number, your email address, and your current TD ATM/Debit card. If you have any trouble enrolling, or if you do not have a TD ATM/Debit card to enroll, please call us 24/7 at 800-493-7562 to speak with our Digital Banking Specialists. Once you've successfully enrolled and after you log onto your Online Banking, on the left-hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center".
We hope this helped answer your question, Gabrielle, and please enjoy the rest of your day.
Customer Service Team, Mount Laurel
