Thank you for writing into TD Helps tonight, Pritesh. We'll be glad to assist you regarding your account.
We'd like to begin by stating that in order to close your account, it must be at zero balance. If you currently have a balance, you can use your debit card or write a personal check for the entire balance in your account to zero out the balance. You can withdraw the remaining funds from the ATM as an option as well.
Once your balance is at zero, please give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit any TD Bank during lobby hours to request the closure of your account. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you. Or if you are enrolled in online banking, you can send us a secure message requesting the closure of your account. To send a secure message, please sign into your account and select "Send a message"; which is located underneath the Message Center on the left hand side of the page.
Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for your account to close.
As we'd like to assist you directly, we are unable to do so as TD Helps is considered an unsecured forum and we do not have access to any account related information.
We hope this information is useful, Pritesh and let us know if you have any additional questions. Take care and have a good night.
