Hi, I had opened a TD premier checking account using the promotion offer in June 2017 but I need to close the account as I have moved overseas for a significant amount of time. there is still 6K+ balance in the account. I plan to close all my accounts in US expect the oldest checking account with one of the other bank. Could you please suggest what is the way to close this TD premier checking account and transfer the funds to other checking account.

As you've mentioned that there is a balance remaining in the account, you would need to withdraw the funds before we can close your account. To view our Store locations and hours, please click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you are unable to stop by, and have checks for your account, you may also write yourself a check from this account, to be deposited into another account. Please note that if you would like to transfer the remaining balance to your other account, a wire would need to be initiated at a Store location. We ask that you click here: https://go.td.com/2lbbfGg to view our personal fee schedule.
Once the account balance is zero, you may close the account at your local TD Bank Store, over the phone by dialing 888-751-9000, or via secure message through online banking.
To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2H8iXLO. Once you've successfully logged in, please select the 'Account Options' tab, and click on 'Account Services'. From there, you will be able to send us a secure message. If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your mobile banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu.
