My vehicle title shows TD Bank as lender, however, it was a personal loan, not an auto loan. I am transferring ownership of the car and need to show the lien release to the DMV. Who do I contact to resolve this matter tomorrow?

Thank you for reaching out to us on TD Helps, Melissa.
We want to make sure we get you all the information you'll need for a copy of that lien.
To obtain this documentation, a fax is required. Please have the loan account holder fax the following information to our Consumer Release Department at 207-755-4245:
1. Account holder's full name, address, and Social Security number
2. The account number, if it is available
3. The year, make, model and VIN, and the date it was paid off, if available
4. The request for Discharge Papers/Release of Lien
5. Account holder's signature
We also recommend including a good contact number and return fax number so that we can help as efficiently as possible. Please keep in mind that the turnaround time for the request is typically 3-5 business days.
Should you like any assistance during this process, please have the account holder contact a dedicated Financial Solutions Group Representative directly at 800-937-5020, and select Option 2. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience. They may also stop in to any of our convenient Store locations for help. Please see: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find our Stores nearest you.
Please note that if the Auto Loan was financed via TD Auto Finance, please contact a TD Auto Finance Representative for instructions to obtain your Release of Lien. They are available Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm at 1-800-556-8172 to help.
We are always here to help, Melissa. Feel free to reach out to us with any additional questions.
