because I am in Bulgaria now. Last summer I was on a work and travel program and I opened an account in TD Bank. But I am not sure if I will receive a visa this summer, so I would like to close my account. Could you please give me an email to contact someone who is responsible for closing accounts? Thank you very much. Yours faithfully, Viktoriya

Thanks for reaching out to us from Bulgaria, Viktoriya! We are sorry to see you go but understand if you need to close your account and can provide you with some options to do so from your current location.
First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have returned home, we do have some options for you to do all of your banking without the need to visit a TD Bank Store. Please note that we offer fully featured online and mobile banking services and live telephone support available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year.
If you still choose to close your account, we do understand and can provide your options. If you prefer to email us your account closure request, you may do so via your Online Banking account using our Secure Message option. To communicate with us, please log in at our full website here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq, click on the Customer Service tab, and then use the Send a Message link to talk with us about your account closing request. Kindly note that your account balance must be zero in order to place this request.
If you are not currently enrolled for online banking, you can sign up by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY, if you have your TD Bank Visa Debit Card or ATM number, your account number and a U.S. Social Security number. If not, you're more than welcome to contact a Banking Specialist directly for assistance. Again, if your account balance is zero we can accept your account closing request over the phone. Please reach us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
If the account has remaining funds, we recommend removing any remaining funds from your current location, such as via your TD Bank Visa Debit Card, check, or transfer. If you choose to use this method, once the funds have been removed, please contact a Specialist 24/7 at the number above or via secure message. It will be necessary to make a specific request to close the account once the balance is zero; please note, the account will not close automatically.
If your account has remaining funds, another way to close the account from abroad is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and any available money will be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your name ▪Your account number(s) ▪Your request to close the account(s) ▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
Please let us know about any questions you have and we hope this helps, Viktoriya! Thanks again for getting in touch with us and best of luck to you.
