We appreciate your reaching out to us on TD Helps with your direct debit question, Marie.
You can request a stop payment be placed on your account for a direct debit by sending us a secure message. To do so, you would have to be enrolled for Online Banking. If you have not enrolled, you can do so for free by following this link: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security number, your email address and your current TD ATM/Debit card.
To log into your Online Banking account, you may follow this link: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. To send a secure message please select the "Customer Service" tab or on the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center. Once you choose the option to send a message, you can select from the drop-down box, "Stop Payment." We ask that you give details on the transaction in your message: such as, transaction amount, and name of the merchant debiting the funds.
There is a fee for adding a Stop Payment to your account. For more information please click: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt .
