I've just opened a checking account. Do I need to call and request for a debit card or will one get sent automatically?

Hey Rohit! We'd like to welcome you to TD Bank.
If you requested to receive a debit card during the account opening process, debit cards can typically take 7-10 business days to arrive at your home address. Please note, when the card is mailed to you, it will come in a plain white envelope for security purposes.
If you need your debit card sooner, you are more than welcome to visit a TD Bank Store and we'd be happy to make one for you. During your visit, you may ask the TD Bank Store Representative if a debit card was mailed to you. If it was, the Representative can close your mailed card, since it will no longer be useful once you activate the card you will receive in person. Check out http://bit.ly/TDStores for lobby hours and locations near you.
Also, if you do not remember if a debit card was requesting during the time of your account opening or if your unable to make it to a TD Bank Store, you may request a debit card over the phone. You can call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and we'll be happy to mail you a new debit card to your address on file.
We hope you find our answer helpful and please don't hesitate to return to TD Helps if you have any further questions.
