I went in person to the TD Bank at Kennedy Blvd Union City, NJ last Friday 11-28 to remove my Simple Savings account and keep my current checking account. The rep who assisted me put in a close out ticket. She told me this would be processed by Monday or Tuesday the latest. Why is there a delay? I emptied out my account but I am still billed a $5 maintenance fee... Will this be waived once this ticket from 11/28 is processed, and my savings account is ultimately deleted?

Thanks for reaching out to us, Andrew. We apologize to hear about any issue and would be glad to point you in the right direction.
Please note that in general, a request to close an account may take 2-3 business days to be processed and completed. If a fee has been assessed to your account since then and the balance is no longer zero, we apologize for any inconvenience, as a Representative will need to assist you further in order to complete the account closing process.
We invite you to give one of our Banking Specialists a call. For your convenience, they are available 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and can help you with a resolution during your call.
Or, if you'll be nearby one of our Stores, feel free to stop in during our extended lobby hours. If you click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores, you can find the TD Bank Store and lobby hours nearest you. Or, you can contact the Union City, NJ Store during lobby hours at 201-864-1014 so that they can complete your request.
Thanks again for your question, Andrew and we hope this helps you. Take care and enjoy your weekend!
