Welcome to TD Helps, Kimberli and thanks for the question!
In order for someone to deposit into your account from another state, you may have that person mail in a check deposit to the following address:
TD Bank, N.A.
P.O. Box Number 1190
Lewiston, ME 04243
Please have the check made payable to one of the account holders (such as yourself) and also on the back of the check, have them write "For Deposit Only" and include your account number.
Additionally, if you use Online Banking, you'll be able to request money from a different Financial Institution by using the Person-to-Person Payment feature. If you're not currently enrolled please click here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY, you will need your account number, ATM/debit card number and email address to complete the process. Once the enrollment has been completed you will have immediate access to your account.
Next, you'll log in and click on the tab at the top of the page titled "Person-to-Person Payment." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you. Then, we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete you’ll be ready to either send or request money! Please note that Person-to-Person Payments can only be conducted to or from a U.S. account in U.S. currency only. They can only be made from an Eligible Transaction Account: for example, personal Checking, Money Market or Savings accounts are usually allowed, with you as a signer on the account. For the Terms and Conditions in addition to information on the payment methods and amounts, please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD. Also, take a look here, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for fees that may apply. If you have any difficulties with the Online Banking enrollment or Person-to-Person Payment feature, please contact our Digital Banking Specialists for assistance 24/7 at 800-493-7562.
Also, you mentioned that you may be travelling to India or Israel, when traveling, you can make an ATM withdrawal from any machine that displays the VISA or PLUS logo. If you are unable to find an ATM that is compatible, with the TD Bank debit card, it may be used to obtain a VISA Cash Advance.
To avoid any interruptions to your TD debit card while out of the country, we request that you place a travel notification on your account. By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. On the left hand side of the page, you should see and option to "Send a secure message." In your message, please include the dates and destination(s) you will be traveling.
