I have an individual account with TD bank. My husband is severely disabled, and I have the durable power of attorney for our financial affairs. The IRS sent us a paper refund check made out to both our names. Can I deposit this check into my TD account using my DPOA for his signature?

Hi Debra, we appreciate you coming to TD Helps and will be glad to provide you with further information.
Although TD Bank typically accepts third party checks for deposit into an individual account, we apologize as government and insurance checks are exceptions to this rule. So in the situation you described in your inquiry, the IRS refund check you received will only be able to be deposited into an account that you and your husband are both signers on. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If you have any additional questions you're welcome to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit any TD location. For a listing of our Stores please view: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Have a good day and take care.
