What is the difference between Preferred Savings and Select Savings accounts? Is the Preferred Savings just the new name for Select Savings accounts? If so, why am I not seeing the higher interest rates applicable on the Preferred Savings account applied to my Select Savings account?

Welcome to TD Helps, K. We'd be happy to clarify.
Please know that the TD Preferred Savings account replaced the TD Select Savings account. Those who had a TD Select Savings account still have this account type at this time.
Because the TD Select Savings is no longer offered by TD Bank, you are able to change your account to the TD Preferred Savings if you'd like for the update in interest.
You can update your savings account at any time by connecting with a Banking Specialist. We are available 24/7 by phone at 888-751-9000. Once speaking with a Specialist, they would be glad to make the change on your behalf.
In addition to calling, you can always request an account type change at any TD Store during lobby hours or by sending a secure message. You can review TD Stores near you here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
To send a secure message using Online Banking, please sign in here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq and select 'Send a secure message' located in the 'Message Center' on the left hand side of the page. For Mobile Banking, select the option to 'Contact Us' followed by 'Send a secure message' after signing in. Be sure to include the account number as well as the specific TD product you'd like to update to in your message.
When you make an account change, this does not affect your account and routing numbers.
We hope this clears things up, K. Enjoy your day!
