Thanks for reaching us on TD Helps, Swellar. We'd be glad to help!
Typically, since a Custodian is also considered an Authorized Signer, they are the only ones who are able to authorize account maintenance. As you've mentioned that you are now 18, you may both visit us during lobby hours at any TD Store to close this type of account and disperse the funds as necessary.
To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Upon your visit, you would be able to transfer the funds from your Custodial Account to a new account that you will have full access to. Please know that savings accounts cannot be changed to checking accounts at this time.
We invite you to take a look at the account that we have to offer. To take a look at the checking accounts we have to offer, please visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd. You are also able to receive a custom recommendation by using our Checking Selector Tool found here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU.
If you're interested in savings accounts, feel free to take a look at the account types we have to offer here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT. You're also able to receive a custom recommendation by using our Savings Selector Tool found here: http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
Once you're ready to open your account, feel free to visit us during lobby hours at any TD Store, call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by selecting "Open Account" beneath the product of your choosing.
Please know that regardless of the method you choose to open your account, you will need your Social Security Number as well as a valid photo I.D. (Driver's license, State ID, or Passport etc.).
We hope this helps, Swellar and have a good day.
