I'm a permanent resident in Canada, living in Miami, I want to know if Do I need to have a TD bank account in Canada to open a cross Border account in Miami? In Canada I was using Royal Bank. But one friend talked to me about this fantastic cross border program of TD Bank USA... so I want to join it. :)

Thanks for your question, Heilyn. We'd be glad to help!
First we recommend taking a look at the accounts we have to offer. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you.
To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
We also recommend taking a look here http://go.td.com/1ienPN4 at our Cross Border Banking FAQs. Please know that having an account with TD Canada Trust is not required to open an account with TD Bank.
When you decide on the account type you'd like to open, you are able to do so online by following the links above, calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or by visiting any TD Store. To take a look at TD Stores and their hours please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Please know regardless of the method you choose, you will need a Social Security Number and a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.).
We hope this helps and have a good day!
