Thank you for reaching out to us here on TD Helps, Danny. We thank you for your interest in our Safe Deposit Box.
In order to rent a Safe Deposit Box, you must be 18 years old and have an active TD Bank account. If you're interested in opening an account with us, we recommend taking a look at the types of accounts that you might be interested in. We offer a variety of Checking and Savings accounts, and some even currently provide certain safe deposit boxes free the first year. To view and compare our Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/UR7yr0 or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
We also offer many ways to open accounts. You can open your accounts online by clicking on the "Open Account" box; which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number and ID (Driver's License, State ID, or Passport). To make your first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
You can also call us to help you with the account opening process by dialing 888-751-9000. Our Customer Service Representatives are available 24/7 to assist you! Once your accounts are opened via telephone or online, you will have 30 days to make your initial deposit.
Furthermore, you have the option of visiting us at a TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to your visit. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once you have opened an account, you may request to rent a Safe Deposit Box at your local TD Bank. Also, our Stores have safe deposit boxes in various sizes. We suggest calling or visiting the Store to find out about the available sizes and costs. Please keep in mind that depending on the type of account you select, the first year payment is due up front, and the next payment will be due after one year.
We hope this helps. Please don’t hesitate to write back if you have any further questions. Have a great day!
