Hi Jagadesh, thanks for reaching out to us with this. TD Helps is available to answer any transfer questions that you might have.
Transferring online between your own TD Bank accounts is always a free service. Please be aware however, that Savings & Money Market accounts are regulated by the governmental Regulation D, a restriction which limits the amount of pre-authorized debits per statement cycle. This regulation does not restrict any deposits made into a savings account, only debits or transfers out of the account. The limitations on Money Market and Savings accounts include up to 6 pre-authorized debits/transfers (overdraft protection, transfer to checking account, transfer to any other account) per statement period. Please review pages 6 & 7 of our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ for more information about this regulation.
If you're looking to transfer funds from your personal account to another institution or to someone else's account, then there are several ways to transfer and some methods do have fees. For more information please review our Personal Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
A great way to transfer funds from your TD Bank personal account to another account of yours with a different financial institution is by using our External Transfer feature via your Online Banking. To use this feature you must first be enrolled in Online Banking. If you have an ATM/Debit Card and Social Security Number, you may enroll your personal account(s) by following this link: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Once there, you will need to choose 'Personal' from the drop down menu. Signing up for TD Bank Online is quick and easy – allowing you to view your account(s) in just three simple steps. First, you'll have to accept the Online Banking Agreement. Then, we'll ask you to enter in your personal information (Name, Social Security Number, account number, debit card, etc.) and finally, you will have to set up three Security Questions. After those 3 steps are completed, you will have immediate access to your account(s) online.
Once you've logged in, to send an external transfer, please select the "Transfer" tab and click on the "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank". You will need to input the account information for your account with the other institution by clicking on the "Add a New Account" link.
If you are looking to transfer funds from your TD Bank personal account to family or friend, you may use the 'Person-to-Person Payments' feature. This option is located at the top in the middle of the page. To add contacts to your list to send money to, please click on the "Contacts" link located beneath the "PopMoney" word on the right. Just input the person's required information and set him or her up for future reference to send a payment to!
For more information on External Transfers and PopMoney Payments Terms & Conditions, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD (specifically Pg. 3, Section 1.16 for information on the payment methods and Amounts). Please be aware that both of these services are available for all TD Bank personal accounts as long as we have a valid U.S. address and U.S. Social Security Number on file for your account(s).
If you have any further questions or need assistance enrolling in the above features, please contact us 24/7 at 800-493-7562. Our Specialists are available 24/7 for your convenience and would be happy to answer all of your questions and provide further assistance if necessary.
We hope this helps Jagadesh. If you have any other questions you know where to reach us. Have a great morning!
