Welcome to TD Helps Krystina. You came to the right place with your question!
You may open a CD as long as you have the Social Security numbers for anyone who will be on the account. Please keep in mind that to open the accounts you will also need to supply a valid Identification (State License, State ID, or Passport). Acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card.
If your child is a minor (under the age of 18), you may open a Custodial account by visiting your nearest TD Bank. Please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores for a listing of our TD Bank Stores. If your children are 18 years and older and would like to open an account with TD Bank, they can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/RRGjuk. They may also contact one of our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit any TD Bank location. For a list of TD Bank Stores, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Although it is not required, we do recommend reaching out to the Store you intend to visit ahead of time in case any additional documentation may be required.
When opening any of the CD accounts listed here: http://bit.ly/1GRNh7s, there is a minimum amount of $250 that is required to open the account with. This requirement is both for existing Customers and new-to-bank Customers.
Thanks for stopping by Krystina, we hope you have a wonderful week!
