Hey, Mary! Great to hear that you’re interested in learning more about our cards, and we're happy to help!
If you have a Checking account with TD Bank and one of our TD Bank Visa Debit cards to go with it, you'll be glad to learn that TD Bank does not charge you any foreign transaction fees for purchases made with this card. When using this card for a purchase in foreign currency, our Customers pay the Visa exchange rate at the time of purchase. This rate is not set by TD Bank.
Please keep in mind that fees that can be incurred while using international ATMs. Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a fee, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made. Our current Fee Schedule can be found here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, which details this for you.
Please note that this fee may be assessed in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
You may refer to our Personal Deposit Account Agreement http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pages 43-45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
Depending on the type of account you have with us, your non-TD ATM fees may be reimbursed with a $2500.00 daily minimum balance. Please check out our Fee Schedule for information about the type of accounts needed to avoid a non-TD ATM fee. If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also incur international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank.
Keep in mind that if you would be using a TD Bank Visa Credit Card, foreign transaction fees may apply. To view the general terms for a Personal Credit Card, please see here: http://bit.ly/1klVfbF (Page 12). Kindly also note that if you do have a Credit Card with TD Bank or intend to, a Credit Card Agreement specific to your account is issued at that time of approval and may contain different terms.
For any questions at all that you may have, just give us a ring! We're here 24/7 for you and can be reached at 888-751-9000, or for any credit card inquiries, please reach us on this number: 888-561-8861, also 24/7 for your convenience.
