I went to Esso Gas Station today, paid $30 for gas, and the transaction got approved. However, I wasn't able to actually pump any gas. I tried the second time at a different pump (in the same gas station, though), and it worked the second time. After, I went to find the customer service to ask if I am double-charged. They told me for my first transaction, since I wasn't able to pump any gas, I won't be charged for it. When I came back home and checked my credit card transactions, the gas station did charge me twice. Customer service from the gas station told me to wait couple days for the transaction to be 'cancelled.' How would the transaction be cancelled, and am I double charged for this?
