Good afternoon, Linda! This is a great question, and we'll be more than happy to help.
Based on the information you have provided us with, it sounds as if you are attempting to make an electronic payment to a merchant using your account and routing number.
If this is the case, we're happy to announce that you'll be able to have this transaction performed from your TD Bank account by simply contacting the merchant you are attempting to pay, and providing them with your account and routing number!
If you're unfamiliar with your routing number, feel free to check out the link here: http://bit.ly/1cmRPoF for a current list. Routing numbers are based on the State where you originally opened your account, and you may also find this information on the bottom left hand side of your checks, if you have any. Check out this link here: https://go.td.com/2bjcv63 for an example.
If you are not aware of your account number, you may obtain this information by simply logging into your Online Banking. Feel free to use this link: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq to log directly into your account. If you have not yet enrolled, don't worry! You may start the enrollment process by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, debit card number, Social Security Number, and a valid e-mail address.
Once you have logged into your account, click on the 'Accounts' tab towards the top of your screen. From here, you will be viewing all of the accounts you currently have with TD Bank, and you can locate your account number in the second column under the 'Account Number' section.
Another option you have when wanting to pay a merchant electronically is to take advantage of TD Bank's Bill Pay feature!
This feature is accessible right from your Online Banking, and to start, simply log in using the link provided in the paragraph above. Once you have logged into your account, click on the third tab from the top that reads 'Bill Pay' to go directly to this feature. If this is your first time using Bill Pay, you may need to register, which can be completed as soon as you select the 'Bill Pay' tab.
Once you're ready to use this feature, simply follow the steps by picking the bill you want to pay, entering in all their information, and choosing the amount and the date of payment! In most instances, we will send an electronic payment directly to your payee, however; if we are unable to do so, your payment will be made with a paper check.
If you have any trouble enrolling in this Bill Pay feature, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a Tech Support Specialist at 800-493-7562, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you have any further questions in regard to how you may accept or send an electronic check into your account, you're also welcome to contact a Banking Specialist, 24/7, at 1-888-751-9000, or visit a TD Store location during lobby hours. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Thanks again for stopping by, Linda. Have a great day!
