Hello, I was in New York for an exchange semester in the months of July-(early) January 2016. I opened a bank account at TD and tried to close it on the 4th of January in person. However, I was unable to due to a pending transaction, so what I did was withdraw all my funds. I had actually forgotten about closing my account and only remembered recently when I read online that American banks charge users for having funds under the minimum amount, which can put them into overdraw, which gets them charged more and more over time. I live in Australia and had no idea about this, so this is distressing for obvious reasons.
The email I used to open the account is no longer available, as it was the email I was temporarily using at my host university in NYC. However, I remembered my username and password and have tried to log in several times. Each time, I go over the log-in limit but never get banned from trying again. I just get a System Error. I've tried resetting my password twice but it doesn't work either.
I just want to see if I've incurred costs on a bank account overseas, and close it. Thank you!
