I received a refund from a website, but the debit card they had on file had expired the month before. They said I'd have to contact the bank to find out what happened to the funds. Is that correct, or should I continue to pursue them?

Based on the message we received from you, you have previously made a purchase using your TD Visa Debit Card and later returned your purchase. If so, your refund should be returned to the debit card you used on the original purchase, even if you closed this card later on.
Credits for merchant returns typically takes 3-5 business days to be credited back onto your TD Bank Debit Card. In your case, it may take longer because your debit card is closed. If you have yet to see your credit or wish to speak with us, you may connect with one of our Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000. You may also reach out to the merchant directly for more information on their return policy.
Please note; depending on the merchants' return policies, some do require to swipe the physical card in order to process the refund.
