Thank you for your interest in a savings account with TD, Nicole. We'd be happy to review them with you.
Though there is no minimum deposit required to open a savings account, depending on the account you choose, there may be a minimum balance requirement. We recommend taking a look at our savings accounts here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9. You are also able to receive a custom recommendation by using our Savings Selector found here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM.
Once you've selected the savings account that best fits your needs, you are able to open your new account in a few ways. Feel free to call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 and our Representatives will be happy to help you open a savings account over the phone. You are also able to visit us during lobby hours at any TD Store. To take a look at our Store locations and hours please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
You are also able to complete the account opening process online while you're reviewing our savings accounts by selecting "Open Account" beneath your selection.
Keep in mind that regardless of the method you choose to open your account you will need a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
As you've mentioned that you'd like to know how much you'll save over time, we invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1nEf59g. By using the calculator in the mentioned link, you will be able to enter your starting balance, monthly deposit amount, your interest rate and the length of time you plan to save.
We hope this helps, Nicole and if you have any questions let us know!

Great info, but it didn't answer the question. I too have a Basic Savings account and would like to know what my required minimum balance is to eliminate any monthly fees. I've looked on the website, the Basic Savings account isn't listed--which is why I ended up here....but didn't get an answer. :(
