Received substantial gift cheque drawn on your bank. It was dated April 9th. I lodged it in Europe today. Bank here says it will take 14 days to come to account. Will it still be honoured if it has run over three months from date on cheque. Would really appreciate your assurance it will be honoured. Dan

Hey Dan, thanks for joining us today.
We'd like to let you know that some checks have an expiration date (payroll checks, government checks, etc.), which limits or extends the time period when the checks can be cashed or deposited. When a check doesn't have an expiration date, it would be considered "stale dated" once it is six months old.
Please note that stale dated checks drawn on TD Bank may still be cashed after we verify the status of the account and check for a stop payment order. If a stop payment is not found, it is possible that the check may be presented to your account for payment even if six months or more have passed.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. If you'll be calling us from outside the US, please dial 856-751-9000 or 215-569-0518 via landline with an Operator's assistance. Also, if you are in the States, feel free to stop by any of the TD Store locations during lobby hours. To find TD Store locations near you, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps. Have a good day.
