Hey Cathy! Thank you for stopping by TD Helps and we appreciate you considering us for your banking needs.
We'd like to let you know that we offer many different types of Checking accounts. Prior to opening an account we encourage you to view and compare our Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 or check out our Checking Selector Tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you.
There are several ways to open an account with us: online, over the phone, or in person. The documents that you will need to open the account are the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport).
To open a Checking account, you may apply Online by clicking onto the orange buttons which say "Open Account" next to your desired account. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit. If you have any trouble or decide that you'd like to open the account over the phone, you may call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and you will have up to 30 business days to make your initial deposit. Finally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Bank Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Hope this is helpful and have a fantastic day!
