So i just turned 18 this past Saturday, and my parents have a savings account already in my name, i was wondering how i'd go about turning that into a checking account, or do i just open a new checking account and transfer the money over?

Thanks for stopping by TD Helps, Gabriel. We'll be sure to guide you in the right direction today.
Although we are unable to change the account type from a Savings account to a Checking account, you're more than welcome to have your Savings account closed and funds transferred to your new Checking account. You can get all of this done within one phone call!
We invite you to visit https://go.td.com/2aHjRCr to view and compare our Checking accounts or check out our Checking Selector Tool https://go.td.com/1vW1xnU for help selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you.
Once you have decided the type of the Checking account you wish to open, you may feel free to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions you may have and set up your new Checking account via telephone. Our friendly Banking Specialist will be more than happy to transfer the remaining funds from your Savings account to fund your new Checking account.
If you prefer to get all these transactions done at a local TD Store near you, you are more than welcome to drop by during normal lobby hours. To find out TD store locations near you, please visit, http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR. You will need to bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
Once your account is successfully opened, you will then be able to either have a TD Debit Card mailed to you, or you may request one on the spot at any of your local TD Stores.
We hope this helps Gabriel, and please take care.
