I just used a gift card to buy something online, the cost of tax made the total slightly higher than the balance on the card. Whats going to happen?

Thanks for joining us here at TD Helps, Jake. We appreciate your visit and would be glad to help.
Typically, when you use your TD Gift Card to pay for a transaction and you do not have enough funds on your TD Gift Card to cover the total amount owed, the available amount will be taken from your Gift Card and you will be asked to use a different form of payment to pay the remaining balance. Please note, we do recommend connecting with the Merchant to inquire about their policy regarding Gift Card payments.
Should you have any other questions about your TD Gift card, please feel free to connect with our Specialists 24/7 at 888-294-2249.
We hope this helps. Have a great day!
