Welcome to TD Helps and thank you for sending us your question, Susan.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that when you use your TD Bank Visa Debit Card while traveling outside the United States, neither Visa nor TD Bank charges any kind of foreign transaction fees.
Your Visa Debit Card is convenient, secure and rewarding- so you can shop and bank with confidence. You can use your debit card at millions of locations that accept Visa across the globe. For few a tips to manage your money when traveling please check out: http://bit.ly/1fO8wKy, you may also want to review our international travel tips frequently asked questions by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1ltwDDc.
To avoid any interruptions to your TD Debit Card usage, we recommend placing Travel Notifications on your checking account. If you have not already done so, you can by calling our 24/7 Customer Service Line at 888-751-9000. If you're setup for online banking, another option would be sending a secured message using www.tdbank.com and requesting Travel Notifications to be added to your account. To send a secured message, you must first log on to your TD Bank online profile. On the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center”. Please be sure to provide us your travel dates and destinations in your message.
By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues.
If you are not set up for Online Banking, please visit here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY.
