Good afternoon and thanks for writing into TD Helps, Carolyn! We'll be sure to provide some information regarding our student checking accounts.
We'd like to begin by stating that in order to qualify for a TD Student Checking account, you must be an active full time student and provide proof of enrollment through a Student ID or a tuition payment receipt and be age 24 or under. For more information, check out: http://bit.ly/1f9fEn9 for Checking account details and comparisons. Our Checking Selector Tool at: http://bit.ly/1gAWlhY can also be used for a personalized account recommendation. In addition, we offer various types of savings accounts that you may be interested in, please click http://bit.ly/1l6nLQ7 for more details. Feel free to visit any TD Bank during lobby hours to open the account.
In regard to overdraft limits and fees, we'd like to mention that TD Bank offers a discretionary overdraft service called TD Debit Card Advance. If your account is enrolled in this service, we may allow you to authorize ATM transactions or one-time debit card purchases even if you don't have enough money available in your account. Please keep in mind that this is not a traditional form of overdraft protection. For this reason, limits for approvals for purchases or withdrawals with your card are made at the discretion of TD Bank, and no predetermined limit applies. You may take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for additional information on fees via our Personal Fee schedule. Take a look below for a breakdown and other overdraft options.
We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways, which have associated fees:
1. We have standard overdraft practices that come with your account.
2. We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a savings account or to an overdraft line of credit, which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. To learn more, ask us about these plans.
To learn more about all of the overdraft options and their associated fees, please visit this site: http://www.tdbank.com/personal/overdraft_comparison.html or watch this video: Understanding your Overdraft Options.
Should you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit us at any TD Bank
during lobby hours. Hope this helps and enjoy the rest of your afternoon, Carolyn!
