Thanks for connecting with us at TD Helps, Rodney. Please note, if no Customer-initiated activity (deposits, withdrawals, or debit card transactions) occurs on an account, it will be considered "Inactive" after a specified period of time. Savings Accounts, Checking Accounts, or Money Market Accounts are automatically changed to an "Inactive" status after 1 year of no Customer initiated activity, and these accounts will be "Dormant" after 3 or 5 years of no activity depending on your region or State. Please keep in mind that once an account becomes "Dormant", it can then be turned over to the State after a number of years, depending on your location. Additionally, we do apologize for any inconvenience, but.in order to close an account or request information on a TD account, you would need to be an authorized Signer on it. If you are not already an authorized Signer, then you would need to bring Power of Attorney paperwork or legal Guardianship paperwork into your nearest TD Bank Store to be able to access the account. If you have any further questions, we ask that you connect with our Banking Specialists at 1-888-751-9000. Our Specialists are available 24/7 and would be happy to help. Or as always, if you have any questions regarding your account or would like further assistance, we also recommend visiting a local TD Bank to speak with a Customer Service Representative. You may search for a nearby TD Bank here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. We hope this helps.
